Isn't the phrase "intents and purposes" and not "intensive purposes"? Or were you just "playing it by year"?

These are pretty well the well known scouting reports on these guys. I think just about anyone that pays attention to either one team knows what they are getting here. Strength to Strength, everyone comes out even.

I was a bit upset at first, because I thought Aulie could of been packaged along with a forward and pick for someone who will help us in our top 6.

But, I don't mind the deal now. I still don't know to much about Ashton though. Except for he has a sweet name.

Watched more of Grand Rapids last year then this year (too much OHL this year haha).

The scouting report on him is pretty easy -- effortless skater, tremendous vision, a slight mean streak, can get a little individualistic at times (maturity thing). Should be a 2-3 in Detroit, IMO.

The Hodgson-Kassian and Ashton-Aulie trades were both surprising and it'll be fun to see how they work out. Most people are calling them both win-win deals, but we'll see how they develop.

Win-win at face value. You can never tell until they develop though. That's what's fun/not fun about them

I was kinda mad to see Carter go. He looks to be the second coming of Ryan Malone (without the injuries), but I really like the look of Aulie. He may be what the Lightning gluelike was missing and young too.

I was listening to Fan590 the day after the deadline and they had Claude Loiselle (Leafs Assistant GM) and he was saying the skating is something he's still working on but that he'd made strides from last season.

I hope this works out for both Parties. Obviously to move Aulie they must see something in Ashton that they really like.

He has an ugly and unorthodox stride.

But he's mobile which is the important part. From here on it's about technical skating skills.

Man, I wish Burke found a way to get Hodgson. Leafs so need help at centre. Great trade for both teams (I guess) but I'd be excited if my team got a 22 year old centre who seemingly is set to take some significant steps forward.

Huds - Question for you:

Do you seriously think that any team in the OHL right now stands any chance at all at beating the Knights? Niagra has some big names and Nail can win games by himself but can either win a 7 game series against them, in your opinion?

Like Aulie likely being a 3-4 Defenseman with upside playing a Top pairing, Ashton seems likely to be a 2-3 Powerforward with top pairing on PKing and 2nd PP Unit. At least, thats how his time in the AHL seemed to be divided up.

Plymouth.

For all London's talent, they have size issues (why they went after Austin Watson) and can be neutralized along the boards. Plymouth has at times done a very good job of doing that this year. Plymouth plays a lot like Boston with size alone the boards (Wilson, Devane, Dempsey, Noesen, etc.). Not to mention Wedgewood can win a series on his own.

Are there any league rules against using said Knight players on the Leafs?
